Background:  Kevin “Doc” Klein has developed innovative models that use systems theory communities understand their community as a whole in order to understand the resources and needs they face.   This plenary presentation used systems theory to describe the important insights gained by interdisciplinary work based on the idea that we need new perspectives in order to break out of dominating and fear-producing power structures.
