Background:  This presentation, given at the 2009 International Meeting of the African Religious Health Assets Programme, presents findings from research carried out by Dr. Blevins and ARHAP colleagues, Paul Germond and Tessa Dooms (University of the Witwatersrand) about the influence of religion on adolescent sexual health. This research drew on and expanded the formative research on religious health assets carried out by ARHAP and IHP; it also serves as a key source for IHP’s current work on sexual and reproductive health among HIV-positive adolescents in Nairobi.
