Background:

IHP convened this meeting to bring together global leaders from religious and public health organizations “to talk about religious health assets globally, especially in Africa.” The meeting was convened with the goal of determining the most effective methods for mapping religious health assets and creating partnerships among religious agencies, religious scholars, schools of public health, and public health researchers.

This meeting laid the foundation for the creation of the African Religious Health Assets Programme (ARHAP) and its groundbreaking work in religious health asset mapping.
